Handling a Domain Automation Failed Situation

Should a domain renewal fail, the recommended remedial procedure is:


* Review the Utilities > To-Do list item for the reason for failure

* Rectify the problem; this could be adding more funds to your domain Reseller account, or adjusting the client's Profile data.

* Some registrars will queue up failed actions and automatically re-try, others require you to re-submit the request. If the latter, use the Module Command buttons on the client's Domains tab.

* Once the domain is successfully renewed at your registrar, navigate to the client's Domains tab in WHMCS and check the following:

 * Status reflects the domain's actual status (ie. Active)

 * Expiry Date reflects the domains' actual expiry date

 * Next Due Date is the expected value (typically this is the same as the Expiry Date)

* Save any changes as necessary

* Set the To-Do List item to Completed.
