Disabling MySQL Strict Mode

To identify where the configuration for MySQL is being loaded from, using a tool such as phpMyAdmin when connected to the database as root, look for the basedir variable value. In our case this is /usr/

Using your favorite editor, open the file my.cnf within the basedir path for editing.

Edit the sql-mode value within this file and remove any value it has. The result should be as follows.

Restart the MySQL service.
